![]() ![]() There have been several other threads about gas mileage. IMHO, your mileage won't improve significantly, if at all, if your XR isn't used on longer distances and increased speed to take better advantage of your XR's potential. This person's mileage did improve after several months. The former travels a significantly longer distance but usually in heavy rush hour traffic and initially reported horrible mileage compared to their previous L series Saturn. The latter told me they DEFINITELY noticed the poor mileage they were getting on their 3.5 mile trip to work. Two people at my place of work also own AURA's - one puchased a used 09 XE and one recently purchased a used 07 XR. In 2 1/2 years I have not achieved better than 19 mpg (that may change with my next fill-up as I just completed a 180 mile mini-roadtrip yesterday at an average speed of 65-70 mph). I maintain a hard copy as well as an online gas log which you can see here. I just don't travel enough of a distance in one stretch at a speed conducive to achieving better gas mileage. That's because I have a V6 and rarely go over 40 mph when driving to work and I usually get stuck at 3 of the 4 stop lights between home and work. My average daily commute consists of 4 trips totaling 9.2 miles and I get TERRIBLE gas mileage. I work 2.4 miles from my house and usually go home for lunch and then back to work. Which model AURA do you have? XE or XR? It would also help if you could provide us with a specific number of miles traveled between fill-ups, how many gallons your AURA took and when the last fill-up was prior to the most current one. ![]()
